You will have the opportunity to request a subject area change if you are invited to enroll in the NYC Teaching Fellows. There will be a short window during the enrollment period when you will be able to appeal your subject area assignment. We cannot guarantee that all subject area appeals will be granted.
You will not be able to change your subject area assignment during the selection process. You should attend your phone interview and/or your Selection Day interview with the subject area assigned by our team. Our screening team considers many factors when making your subject area assignment, including your educational background, declared subject area preferences and the needs of the NYC Public Schools. We cannot assign you to a subject area unless you meet all of the academic requirements outlined by NYSED (New York State Education Department) and our university partners.
