Hiring Timeline for those in CTSTN Title
Please note that you have been nominated for the CTSTN title for the duration of your summer pre-service training (PST). As a result, you will not be eligible for a formal teacher nomination until August, once PST has concluded and your CTSTN nomination is canceled. If a principal is ready to hire you, please complete the Hiring Commitment Form process while you wait for the nomination window to open in August. Do not take any further administrative steps until the teacher nomination opens. Rushing this process may have a negative effect on your access to your DOE External Account, Essential Course Resources and Stipend Distribution among other things.
Step 1: Accept the Verbal or Written Offer of an Early Commitment from an Eligible School and Ask the Hiring Manager to Complete the Hiring Commitment Form in the New Teacher Finder
The hiring manager will search for your profile in the NTF and complete your Hiring Commitment form (see below).
Step 2: Receive an Email from the Office of Teacher Recruitment and Quality with a Unique Link
After the hiring manager submits the Hiring Commitment form, you will receive an email with a unique link for your NTF account (see below). You will have five business days to click on the link and accept or decline the Early Commitment offer.
Note that the email will come from nyc@teachersupportnetwork.com so please mark this as a safe sender and check your spam or junk mail folder if you do not see it.
Step 3: Accept or Decline the Offer in the NTF
After you click the offer link, you will be prompted to log in to your New Teacher Finder account and taken to the Hiring Commitment offer page (see below). Here, you can either accept or decline the offer. (Please note that the Early Commitment period is over and the top of the screen will read "Hiring Commitment" instead.)
Once you accept a Hiring Commitment offer, your hiring manager will receive a confirmation email with more information (see below).
If you decline the offer, you and the hiring manager will receive an email notification.
Step 3: Make Sure that You Receive a Confirmation
After you submit your decision, you will be taken to a confirmation page. (Please note that the Early Commitment period is over and the top of the screen will read "Hiring Commitment" instead.)
You will receive a reminder email if you do not respond within five business days. If you do not respond within 15 days, the offer will be rescinded, (see below) and you and the hiring manager will be notified.
Step 4: Wait to Hear About Next Steps from Your Hiring Manager and TRQ
Congratulations! You have made a Hiring Commitment to teach in a NYC Public School for the 2025-26 school year. Your hiring manager will begin the formal hiring process.
